Will You Marry Me?

They met five years ago in high school.

One could not stop thinking about the other.

It was only natural that today happened.:)

He told her he was fishing and that she should stop by the lake and hang out after work. Instead he spent the morning filling balloons with helium in one of her favorite colors, then tying them across the bridge to create a dreamy, floating array of blue.

And then he waited patiently, in the wind and drizzle, for her call.

She said she saw the balloons and, with an inside smile, knew there was something “fishy” about that fish story.:)

As she walked toward him she started to shake…

And then he dropped down on one knee…

I think it’s pretty safe to say she said “YES!”

I’m also pretty certain that this is the best day fishing that either one of them will ever have!:)

Senior Class of 2013 | Meet Taylor

I had the pleasure of photographing these handsome boys right before Christmas. Mom wanted photos in the snow. Unfortunately the snow had just about melted, but the weather was amazing for December!

We started out doing senior photos for the oldest, who by the way wants to be an orthodontist. I have no doubt he’ll achieve his dream given his amazing grades and recent invite to visit the Yale campus in Connecticut.

After taking a few senior photos, we decided to include a few of the youngest. Such cute boys! I think we got some keepers!

Thanks for letting me take your photos! You two seriously rocked it!

Yay! Great pictures! I seriously love your work. You are amazing at your use of light in your pictures. The boys look like they had a blast with you!

Such handsome young men and wonderful photos. I agree with Cindy, the light in your photos is always gorgeous.

One Year Anniversary

It’s hard to believe it’s been just over a year since my two were married! I wasn’t the official photographer at the wedding, but I couldn’t resist taking my camera along for part of the day! You can see more of the photos at www.taraphotographics.com. Tara did an amazing job and was completely fun and awesome to work with!

You can see the rest of their engagement photos in the June 2011 archive and the bridals in July 2011.

Happy One Year Anniversary to my cute kiddos! Here’s to a million more!

They were seriously beaming when they walked out of the Temple!

Mother-in-law and daddy-daughter hugs!

Father-in-law.

And then I had to put my camera away and enjoy the day as a mom.:)

Keep Smilin! xxoo ~ Y

Everyday Life | This and That

I’ve been a bit behind on my life photos. Definitely trying to make it happen more often.

Hmmm, maybe I just need to stay away from Pinterest a bit more.:)

I was standing in my kitchen when I noticed this little guy just outside the window pecking away! Meet Mr. Woodpecker!:)In the 20 years I’ve lived in my house I’ve seen all kinds of wild life; deer, fox, marmots, skunks, racoons, pheasants and quail…but never a woodpecker.

I couldn’t resist throwing this one in. I don’t think I ever posted it. Although it was taken a little over a year ago, it still makes me smile. And since she is family I am totally putting in it with my everyday photos. Cause I can!:)

I get asked often, “What the heck do you use on your plants?” So here’s the secret, because I love you guys and because I love sharing! I’m totally loving Daniels Plant Food and Bug-B-Gone this year! Seriously amazing stuff! The fertilizer is part organic and can be used everyday if you want. I’ve used it once a week with great luck. Bug-B-gone lasts four to six weeks and takes care of most pests that like to munch away at plants. I always have earwigs and have learned to treat my plants beforehand to keep the bugs away instead of waiting until I notice the problem.:)

Kinda sad that winter is coming and all this will soon be gone…awe well, such is life!:)

Don’t forget to take photos of your pets! I was out doing a comparison on a few different settings in camera when Mr B. turned to see what the heck I was doing. Photo was taken at the bottom of our yard on the sitting area of a really old wood swing set! Which is in definite need of repair and new sand.

My loved and worn mascara tubes. I’m a bit obsessed with mascara’s and lip colors. Ask my sister, she just took a photo of the lip colors in my purse!:)I always tend to use more than one mascara because one never seems to do everything I like. I get asked often if I have eyelash extensions, so I thought I’d share two of my favs at the moment. I use LOreal Voluminous False Lashes first and then when almost set I do the tips of my lashes with Maybelline define-a-lash, applying from behind. What are your favorite mascaras?

Oh and I know this isn’t a great pic…but since its for personal use I don’t think I’ll take another.:)

And just for fun…all photos were taken with a the Canon 5d Mark ii and the 24-70mm 2.8 lens.

Happy Fall! Keep Smilin! Check back for Senior sessions I’ll be posting soon and don’t forget to take photos of things going on in your yard or favorite products of late!

Everyday Life | A photo a day

Hello friends! I apologize for being so quiet on the blog front. This past year has been crazy busy and filled with a little bit of everything…from my sons wedding, our huge kitchen remodel, my sweet moms six month battle with a drug resistant illness similar to MRSA, her five day hospital stay and eventually surgery and another hospital stay, and the passing of my 93 year old, adorable, happy go lucky grandmother, whom I will miss beyond words. So many things…I won’t bore you with the details of everything else but I will say that somewhere along the line a little of me just kind of went into the mode of being overwhelmed on all levels.:)

With that and because a post is never as good without photos I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites from the past few months. Both taken with different cameras and very little editing.:)

My adorable daughter-in-law looking out the window watching the boys hunt Easter eggs. This shot was taken with my 5dmkll

My cute little sister hanging out with cookie monster while we were in New York last month. This shot was taken with my 50d because its my travel and backup camera.:)

As always, I hope all is good in your world! Happy Saturday! Have a blessed and fabulous weekend!

Keep smiling!
Yvonne:)

So sorry about your grandmother. I miss mine all the time.
I hope everything works out okay with your mother.

The shots are lovely! Are people really rude in NY like they say?

Yvonne

Thanks Shawntae! My mom is on the up and up and doing well! It was just hard because she’s never been sick before. Unfortunately sometimes I think my parents are invincible and I forget that they are not. My grandma was fun…she always told stories and then laughed hysterically at herself…then we’d all crack up because of it. Last time she was in the rehabilitation center she was going to have a pizza party for everyone that helped her when she got out. I loved her positive outlook and will definitely miss her.

As far as New York…I LOVE the place and have never been treated rude. I’ve been on the east coast quite a few times because I was born in Delaware. :)
