Teens | Miss J .. A little bit of cold won’t stop us

At least not yesterday anyway! I am 100% a warm weather girl so I was a bit nervous about the cold! This is only the second time I’ve taken senior photos outside in the winter weather and last time it was SO bitter cold. I’ll be trying this again soon…with all the cute coats, hats and scarves, its hard not to want to play.:)

You may recognize this adorably, cute girl from last summer! She’s as sweet as they come. She was a little shy in front of the camera but I think she pulled things off pretty darn well. And I promise I did not make her take off her coat!:)

Thanks for visiting Catherine Grace Life Photography! I’m so, so glad you’re here. Pull up a chair and chat! I L O V E interacting with you!:)
Oh and in case you’re wondering…Catherine and Grace are my two sweet grandma’s!

Hugs~Make it a great day! Yvonne

SO cute!!! All the pictures feel so natural and pretty! Nice work!

Yvonne

Thanks Cindy!!

Agree with Cindy! The one with the magazine I bet she was FREEZING! LOL And her arms on that metal! Wooo! She’s a brave girl! =)

Yvonne

Haha Chels…That’s what she wore originally. I kept asking if she was cold and she kept telling me no! :) I was the one that suggested we take some shots with her coat on.

Thanks!

I love all these, great work. My very favorite is #3.

WOW you’re good!
Keep up the good work!

These are sooo cute! Love the b/w hat :) Looks like a commercial shoot!

Yvonne

Thanks for your kind words! It always makes my day!

Awesome photos! If you lived closer, I would recommend you to be our pageant photographer. Beautiful girl! Do you think she would enter a pageant?

Wow, these are all so gorgeous! I’m doing a shoot next week for my younger cousin for her sweet 16th birthday. I hope they turn out at least 1/4 as great as these.:)

These are wonderful pictures! Her hat is adorable!! I agree…warm weather is the way to go….

Just for fun..a look at 2010

I’ll share a few photos that did not make it to blogland in 2010 and a few that did.:)

To everyone that allowed me to take your photo…I had so much fun with you! I loved every minute of wondering, talking, playing and getting know you better. THANK YOU! And to everyone that took time to stop by and leave a kind word…you rock! I appreciate your kind words more than you know! THANK YOU!

Can’t wait to photograph some of you again in 2011!

Thank you for your nice comment on my edit!

I love your photography! Absolutely gorgeous.

I love these Catherine. You do great work!!
I especially love the ones taken at the red wall.

LOVE those first ones especially of the senior girls in the hats!! Super cute! And the one with the girl flipping her hair – the one next to it looks so natural of her! Great shoots!

Yvonne

Thanks so much everyone! You’re awesome…I love reading your thoughts and comments!

Beautiful pictures. Great job!

Yvonne

Thank You!

Adorable?

I’d have to give that a 110% “Yes!”  Seriously loved this impromptu shoot at my moms on Christmas eve. She is just so cute and fun!

If only I could go back in time and take a dozen more pictures of my boys like this. Love her sweet, toothless smile!

I have never looked back and said “I wish I hadn’t taken so many photos.”  I can however say that “I wished I would have taken more.”

Enjoy the moments, but make sure you don’t let the important ones slip away without capturing them forever.

So cute!

Thanks! She was so much fun! :)

Project 365 | Pancake recipe

Christmas has come and gone, but pancakes…well pancakes are good all year…Right?! I’ve had several people tell me that they really liked these so I figured hey…I should share! One nice thing about this recipe…you can whip up the dry ingredients ahead of time. Kind of nice for someone like me who doesn’t consider herself to be a morning person! Hard to think about recipes when your brain cells aren’t quite functioning yet.:)Thanks to my friend Michelle for sharing this awesome recipe with me.

Recipe below…

Pancakes from the Pantry

4 cups quick-cooking oats (uncooked)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 cup dry milk
3 Tablespoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
5 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tarter

Combine all ingredients together, mixing well. To use dry ingredients in jar add the following; in a large bowl, add 2 eggs; beat well. Gradually beat in 1/3 cup oil. Alternately add 2 cups of pancake mix and 1 cup of water to the egg mixture; blend well. Cook pancakes on a lightly greased griddle.

Enjoy!

Your photos are wonderful!

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog!

I love this photo!!! You are doing better than me if you make pancakes from a recipe, I always buy the box that says just add water!

haha that totally cracks me up! I usually buy the box that says just add water too!

Thanks you guys/girls!! :)

Well, you definitely succeeded in making me hungry! :) Reminds me of when my son was little, and he would get together with his daddy in the kitchen to make homemade pancakes! I miss those days. Thank you for sharing this yummy recipe … can't wait to try this when he finally comes home in March, but hubby and I will give it a test run, or two, beforehand! Lol! This is such a great photo, too! I should get in on this Project 365, but I've missed a few days. :( I also want to thank you for the sweet comment on the picture of my sister's cat! Your work is beautiful, by the way! Hope you don't mind … I'm going to become a follower! You have a wonderful weekend! :)

Happy 2011 and a Project 365 photo

Happy 2011!  What a crazy couple of weeks its been…along with Christmas and birthdays, my 16 year old got his gigantic tonsils removed. He’s not a happy camper at the moment!:)

I really love that the new year and spring feel so fresh and new to me. Its as if you get a new start. I also wonder why it is that other times of the year don’t feel as new or fresh. Maybe I should work on that.:)

I’ve never done a yearly word, but this year the word RENEW came to me out of the blue, in one of those quiet moments when I wasn’t even thinking about a word for the year.

Here’s a little of what I think I’ll RENEW

  • my commitment to daily exercise and health…surprised that the new year brings that one aren’t ya! I’m not committing to major things at this point. I really want to run a 5K, but right now I just want to form the habit of exercising again, everyday, without pressure. More than anything, knowing that I am doing that for myself will make me feel better mentally.
  • a renewed interest in learning to play the piano (one of the goals on my life list…no idea where it came from, its just been in my head forever.)
  • also on my mental life list…travel to Europe. I’m renewing a commitment to make it happen by saving just a little every check….baby steps that will eventually make me take that big leap onto a plane and off to Europe.:)I got the idea to save $2.00 a day on Chris Guillebeau‘s awesome blog.
  • a renewed blog and kitchen…no more procrastination on getting bids and figuring out how to change my blog over to WordPress.
  • a renewed commitment to have more fun, more often, without spending a lot.
  • a renewed commitment to make an effort to purposely go out of my way to do something nice everyday for the people I live with.
  • renewing my courage and reminding myself to “do it afraid” whatever “It” may be at the moment. So many things slip by because of that little voice that says things that cause unnecessary fear.

Wishing you all the best that 2011 can possibly bring! Keep smiling and remember to keep pushing forward and taking baby steps until your goals become your reality.

Make it a great day!

Love and Hugs! ~Y

I’ll leave you with a snapshot of my cute dad and mom, taken at night, right after their 50th anniversary carriage ride. A ride that my dad did not want to take at all. I’m thinking he looks like he may have had a change of mind!:)

Here’s to being open minded to new things in 2011.
